At Shine Bright (NS) CIC, we believe every child and young person—aged 0 to 25—and their family deserves the chance to feel safe, supported, and full of hope. Whether it’s mental health, education, isolation, independent living, or simply having someone to talk to, we’re here to help build brighter futures.
We offer friendly, accessible support for children, young people, and families in our community. Together, we tackle life’s challenges and help each person discover their strengths and shine.
Our support includes:
- One-to-one holistic support sessions
- 12 week wellbeing and recovery group programme
- Ongoing Peer Support group sessions
- Facilitator Training leading to volunteer and work opportunities
We work with communities to build confidence, prevent crisis, and create lasting wellbeing.
We’re proud to follow trusted, community-friendly programmes and values that put care, compassion, and community first:
1/ WRAP® (Wellness Recovery Action Planning) – an evidenced based peer support and recovery programme adapted for Youth that helps them bounce back from tough times
2/ Youth and Community Values – We listen to what matters most—education, jobs, housing, safety—and respond with care
3/ Trauma Informed Practice – We understand how past experiences shape us and offer gentle, respectful support grounded in the Compassionate Leeds vision
4/ A partner in Transforming Mental Health Support in Leeds – We believe in kindness, participation, and using community strengths to transform mental health care
Young people are the heart of our communities. But too often, they face barriers that hold them back. We’re here to break those barriers—and build a future where every child, young person and young adult can shine.
“My granddaughter really needed the WRAP course, she was really struggling with her mental health and as a family we were very worried. We have seen her become more resilient and use strategies she has learnt to use on the WRAP to help herself when she is experiencing difficulties. She was reluctant and anxious to attend but after a couple of weeks she began to look forward to the group every week. We are so grateful that she has been able to attend the WRAP and that it has made such a positive difference, thank you” Grandparent
