Meet the Founder
I am Nicola Swales, a passionate advocate for community wellbeing and charitable support work. With qualifications in the Arts, post graduate Youth and Community Professional Studies, WRAP Advanced facilitator and qualified trainer and nearly 20 years’ experience working across the health and wellbeing sector. I have specialised for years in promoting user and carer voice in service improvement and commissioning, developing the establishment and delivery of a range of early help and preventative wellbeing support services including digital innovation for a range of communities. Most recently I have led and managed the establishment of a children, young people and family bereavement service across Leeds.
I am committed to being creative and providing face to face and digital support that is flexible and bespoke to the individual and group. I am highly experienced in involving those who use services, their carers and those who deliver support in the design, commissioning and delivery of services. I have established Shine Bright upon these foundations with years of consulting with and hearing what children, young people and families need and how we can reach them.
I am an experienced trainer in WRAP, bereavement and wellbeing and have utilised all my skills and experience to develop and design the Shine Bright (NS) CIC wellbeing support service to meet the needs of Leeds communities and across Yorkshire in the future.
